Phyllis M. Briggs, 67, of 16 S. Green St., Mount Union, died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday September 7, 1997, at home after a long illness.

Born April 18, 1930, in Mount Union, she was a daughter of late James Russell Flick and Isabelle M. Morden.

She was a Protestant.

She attended Captain Jack High School, Mount Union.

Donald V. Briggs Sr., her first husband, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her common-law husband of 40 years, Edwin G. Uttley; four children, Sheila Bucher, Donald V. Jr. and Corinne (Mrs. Samuel) Pyles, all of Mount Union, and Karen (Mrs. James) Boden of Willow Hill; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. The Rev. Marlin Neil will officiate. Burial will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight in the funeral home and two hours before the service in the funeral home.
