Annie Laura Jantzen was the first of twelve children born to Caroline "Lena" Schwarz and Willhelm Diedreich "Richard William" Jantzen in Pooler, Chatham County, GA. She was baptized 11 Aug 1879 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension, Savannah, GA.

On 26 Oct 1897 she married William Walter Fell in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension. They lived most of their lives in Augusta, GA, and had four children.
