The Quincy Daily Herald, 7/27/15, p. 11. “Funeral held for Ehme Aden, Aged German citizen of Golden died in Flannagan, IL last Thursday. The funeral of Ehme Mennen Aden, who died in Flannagan, IL, July 22, was held at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon. Rev. Darrow officiating. Deceased was born April 16, 1832, in Holtrops, Ostfriesland, Germany and came to America in 1856. In 1860 he was married to Reenste Tammegi [Tammen], who died in 1892. Since that time he has lived with his children.
Four children were born to them, one died in infancy. The remaining three are: Menne Ehme Aden of Golden, Mrs. Janssen and Mrs. Joosten of Flannagan, Il. He had fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He leaves three sisters, Mrs. Janna Ihnen, Mrs. Trientje Flesner and Mrs. Altje Flesner.” Source provided by “Festus95.”
