She was the daughter of farmer William A. McCord and his wife Eliza Allen. They lived in Rutherford, Indiana near Alfordsville. The McCords were one of the original families in the area.
She married first Henry A. Chandler in 1875. They had one son Henry "Allen" Chandler, born 8 Nov 1876 in Flora, IL. She appears to have been widowed by 1880 when she was found in the census living with her parents and son without her husband. That her son was born in Illinois shows that they lived there at least for a time.
Her first husband has been hard to track and his death date and burial location are not known. What is known is this: He was born in Fleming County, KY in 1854 and was the son of Henry Chandler 1819-1894 and Mary Jane McCarty 1820-1864. His family was in Kentucky in 1860 but in Martin County, IN by 1863. His father remarried Matilda Inman in 1865. The family is found in the 1880 Census in Reeve, Daviess County, IN. but his father's gravesite is unknown. A half-brother Nathaniel Chandler is buried in the Old Union cemetery as was her parents, second husband, son Allen Chandler, and granddaughter Galelah Chandler.
She married second James Madison Alford. He was a widower with four children. His first wife was a cousin of Floria's first husband.
Her children were:
* Allen Chandler 1876-1956
* James Stanley Alford 1883-1964
* Leona Alford Brown 1886-1968
* Benjamin Harrison Alford 1888-1972 (died in Long Beach, CA, grave unknown)
* Eula Alford Driver 1890-1977
* Helen Alford Cooper 1896-1968
In the 1920 Census, widowed, she is found in Arkansas with her daughter Eula Driver, her family, and her grandsons Gordon and Harold, sons of her son James Stanley Alford. Stanley had recently been widowed and his whereabouts are not known.
In 1930 she is in Jefferson, IN with son Stanley and grandson Harold.
