Hope McFall Glover, 90, of Brightview at Baldwin Park, Staunton, Virginia, and formerly of Waynesboro, Virginia, died Saturday, December 9, 2006, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, Virginia.
She was born April 19, 1916, in Mt. Solon, Virginia, a daughter of Walton H. and Mattie Hanna McFall.
She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. From 1950 until 1980 she was employed by the former Waynesboro Community Hospital; from 1950 until 1966 she served as supervisor, head nurse, and director of nursing; from 1966 until 1980 she was the head nurse of the obstetrics department and assisted in the delivery of hundreds of local residents.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Boyd M. Glover, in 2005; four sisters, Ruth McFall Dickson Smith, Mary McFall Baylor, Charlotte McFall Dovel and Helen McFall Crosby; and two brothers, Marvin and Eugene McFall.
Surviving are her son, Boyd M. Glover Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Verona, Virginia; a sister, Frances McFall Hosaflook, of Bridgewater, Virginia; three grandsons, Chip Glover, of Waynesboro, and Jamie and Michael Glover of Verona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2006, at McDow Funeral Home by the Rev. Creed Davis. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews, Bill Dickson, Mac Dickson, Hugh Hall, Don McFall and Harold Hosaflook Jr.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, December 7, 2006, beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations can be made to a YMCA of one's choice.
