Don H. Arnold, 88, of Goshen, IN (formerly of Milford, IN) passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 17, 1924 in Decatur, IN to Homer W. & Lulu (Byerly) Arnold.

He graduated in 1942 from Kirkland Township High School in Decatur. He attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and then graduated in 1948 from Manchester College in North Manchester. He received his Master's Degree from Ball State in Muncie, IN and was a World War II Army Veteran. He was married in 1947 to Elizabeth Price who passed away on January 6, 1960, then July 27, 1960 he married Martha Gregor who passed away on June 20, 1981, then January 1, 1983 he married Nancy L. (Sutton) Walker who survives. He moved to the Milford area in 1963 from North Manchester and lived there until 2012 when he moved to Goshen.

He worked in the education field for a total of 37 years teaching and coaching at Kirkland High School, Orland High School, Adams Central High School, Laketon High School, and finally retired in 1985 from Wawasee Community School Corporation after 17 years of service. He was the Business Manager for Wawasee from 1963 – 1967 and the Corporation Superintendent from 1967 - 1985. After retirement from education he worked for Hall & Marose Insurance in Milford for 5 years.

He was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Kiwanis Club in Milford where he received the George F. Hixson Fellow Award in 2000 from the Kiwanis International, Masonic Lodge in Milford & American Legion in Milford. He was a charter member of the Lakeland Kiwanis in North Webster, formerly served for 21 years on the REMC Board of Directors, served on the board for Milford Area Development, and the Waubee Lake Association.

Step Son – Doug (wife, Jennifer) Walker of Middletown, IN
19 Grand, 18 Gt. Grand & 1 Gt. Gt. Granddaughter
2 Brothers – Bill (wife, Eloise) Arnold of Auburn, IN & Homer (wife, Edith) Arnold of Berne, IN
2 Brother in Laws – William (wife, Sara) Gregor of Saginaw, MI & Richard (wife, Sharon) Gregor of Ligonier.

He was preceded by his parents, 2 wives, infant sister, & 2 brothers – Stanley & Eugene Arnold

Visitation will be 2:00 – 5:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Dunning officiating. Burial will follow in the Milford Cemetery.
