WAYNE SCOTT MONROE WAS THE SON OF LESTER MORGAN AND BEATRICE MAYO MONROE.

SURGOINSVILLE – Wayne Scott Monroe age 81 of Surgoinsville, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at his residence. Born September 18, 1931, he was a life long resident of Hawkins County. He retired from his own business, Monroe's Garage, and was President of Mid Hawkins County Water Department. He was of the Morman faith and a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Morgan, Sr. and Beatrice Mayo Monroe, and brother, Lester Monroe, Jr.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Glaydola Lindsey Monroe; sons, Robert Monroe, Sr., and Roy Monroe, daughter-in-law: Terry Leeper Monroe and very special and close friend, Donna Strong, all of Surgoinsville; grandsons, Ryan Monroe and Robert Monroe, Jr.; granddaughters, Christy Monroe Walters and Amy Limbaugh; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and one great-great grandson; brothers-in-law, Gene, Chester and Amon Lindsey and sister-in-law, Annie Monroe.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Colboch-Price Funeral Home with President Wayne Riner, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 12 noon until services commence at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be given to the Hawkins County Animal Shelter or a Charity of your choice in Wayne's name.
