PIONEER DIES ON THURSDAY
Minton Funeral

C. B. Minton, 77-year-old pioneer Beckham county resident and brother of J. A. Minton of Sayre, died suddenly Thursday afternoon at his home near Erick.
Mr. Minton had been in ill health for the past year but his condition was not considered serious and he was able to continue his duties around his home.
Thursday afternoon he walked to a nearby field where neighbors were stacking hay and as it began to rain he started to return to his home. As he turned to leave he slumped over the hay stack and was dead within a few minutes, apparently from a heart attack.
Mr. Minton had been a resident of western Oklahoma for 30 years and was well known throughout this section of the state.
He was born in Gravely(sic) Springs, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Cora Abernathy and Mrs. Ethel Hess both of Erick, four sons, Will Minton of Hext, Jones Minton of Erick, Buster Minton of Erick and John [inton of Electra, Tex. Other survivors include his brother J. A. Minton of Sayre and a number of grandchildren.
No definite arrangements have been completed for the funeral srvice.(sic)

Resident Of 40 Years Claimed By Death Thursday
Mr. Charles B. Minton, a resident of Erick since 1902 died Thursday, February 12. He was born on May 13, 1865 in Alabama. On February 17, 1885 he was married to Miss Parilee Rich at Savannah, Tennessee and to this union seven children Were born one of whom has preceded him into the great beyond. Death came at the age of 76 years and & months and 29 days.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Parilee Minton of the home address. 4 sons, Jons of Electra, Texas; J. W. and C. D. of Erick, J. T. of Sayre: two daughters, Mrs. Cora Abernathy and Mrs. Ethel Dodson of Erick; one brother, J. A. Minton of Sayre; 11 great grandchildren and 22 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 15 from the Church of Christ with Rev. Adrian MeIlroy officiating. Interment was in the Erick cemetery. Fatheree Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
