Irene J. Laudati (nee Ferrence), 88, passed away Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, March 14, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the S.J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Rd, Lake Hiawatha, NJ. (973-335-4700). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 15, at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X R.C. Church, Montville, NJ. Interment will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Irene had lived in Newark, NJ, and Bloomfield, NJ, before moving to the Pine Brook section of Montville in 1988. During World War II, she was a "Rosie the Riveter" and worked riveting parts on B-29 airplanes. Mrs. Laudati was later employed as an insurance underwriter with Empire Mutual Insurance in Bloomfield and Gateway Insurance in East Orange, NJ, before her retirement. Irene led a full and active life and continued to drive and work well into her eighties.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son-in-law, Russell Moran. Survivors include her loving daughter, Esther A. Moran; her granddaughter, Jaime Novak; her great-granddaughter, Makenzie Novak; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lois Laudati; her goddaughter, Donna Laudati; and nephews and nieces, Joan Piccione, John Komanitsky, Edward and Jeff Olbreys, Robert Laudati, Carleen Riley, and Arleen Rochacewicz.
