ADDA JANE WIEGMAN, 89, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, March 14, 2013, 2:23 a.m., at Parkview Regional Medical Hospital. Born Dec. 17, 1923, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Oscar J. Weiker and Norma (Hoopes). She was a 1941 graduate of Upper Sandusky Ohio High School and graduated from Heidelberg University with a Bachelor's Degree, in 1945. She married her James Wiegman on Feb. 14, 1953. She was a home economist at Ohio Power Co. for eight years. Her hobbies included playing the piano, fishing, gardening, golfing, and cross country skiing. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ; and a founder of the Prostate Cancer Support Group for 23 years. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, James Wiegman of Fort Wayne; sons, Chuck (Brenda) Wiegman of Kokomo, Thomas (Cheryl) Wiegman of Plymouth, Ind. and Mark (Maribeth) Wiegman of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Abbie Wiegman of Cape Coral, Fla., Jeremy (Robin) Ringer of Erie, Penn., Chris Wiegman and Kelley Wiegman, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Tommy Wiegman of Plymouth, Ind.; and sister, Eloise Brown of Rochester, Ind. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Weiker; and sister, Joan Houser. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Saturday at Salem United Church of Christ. Pastor Michael Smith officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Cancer Services of Northeastern Indiana or Salem United Church of Christ.
