Brandon- Lois Erickson, 87, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2007 at Southridge Healthcare Center. Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Brandon Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 3:30 PM on Monday, April 23 at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 top 8:00 PM.
Lois Marie Wilkins, daughter of John and Mary (Merritt) Wilkins, was born October 28, 1919 in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up there and graduated from Washington High School in 1937. After high school she married Elmer Erickson in Luverne, MN on September 28, 1940. The couple then moved to Brandon, SD where they made their home. While in Brandon, Lois worked for Midwest Beach Printing Company of Sioux Falls for 10 years.
In her free time Lois loved to golf. She was a member of the Elmwood Women's Golf Club for over 30 years and had made a hole in one. She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was a member of Brandon Lutheran Church and of Priscilla Circle. Most of all, Lois loved to spend time with her family. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, a wonderful grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Elmer Erickson, Brandon, SD; children, Gail David, Arnold, MD, and Gary (Donna) Erickson, Hugo, MN; grandchildren, Joni (Bob) Miller, Stevensville, MD, Todd (Michelle) Erickson, Torrance, CA, and Lisa (Bob) Johanson, Stacy, MN; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Jeanne Reed, Sioux Falls.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; a brother; a sister; a grandson; and a son-in-law.
