Irving P. C. Beard

Irving Preston Cleveland Beard, a resident of Ijamsville for the past 30 years, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock. He was 67 years old. Mr. Beard was born in Frederick County, son of the late Luther and Alice Keeney Beard, both of this county. He was a member of the Ijamsville Methodist Church and Sunday School. He was employed by the B. & O. Railroad as a telegrapher for a period of 28 year: and retired from this position sometime ago. Mr. Beard is survived by his wife. Mrs. Mamie Burrier Beard, and the following children; Mrs. John Covell, Araby; Howard and Paul Beard, both of Ijamsville: Mrs. Roland Huffer. Braddock Heights: Mrs. Herman Rice, Araby; three sisters and a brother: Mrs. John Burrier, Mount Pleasant; J. Edward Beard, Rock Island. Ill.; Mrs. Lawrence C. Pearl and Mrs. B. C. Williams, both of Frederick. Ten grandchildren, one great grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held at the funeral home, 8 East Patrick street, this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment was in Mount Olivet Cemetery. C. E. Cline and Son, funeral directors.
