VIOLET (VI) BUCKLEY CASTRILLI
Born July 12, 1922 in Perkinsville, NY Vi was an 80 year resident of Bath. She passed away peacefully on November 7, 2012 at her home on Burton Street.
She was predeceased by her husband, Guy S. Castrilli, a former Bath Postmaster who passed in 2008, her mother Carolyn (Miller) Buckley and father Everett Buckley of Bath, along with her sister Vivian Read and brother Lawrence Buckley.
Survivors include sons: Thomas (Maryann) Castrilli of Cheshire, CT and Joseph (Joy) Castrilli of Blackhawk, CA; Grandchildren, Heather (Jay) Castrilli of Branford, CT, Nicholas (Kyndol) Castrilli of Phoenix, AZ and Kathleen Castrilli of Cheshire, CT; Nieces: Kathleen Read of Corning, NY, Mary Jo Doherty of Chapel Hill, NC; Nephews: Steve Read of Bath, NY, John (Rae) Read of Corning, NY, Bob Castrilli of Bath, NY and Peter (Peggy) Castrilli of Haymarket, VA.
Vi was a housewife, worked part-time at the former Redwood House in Bath and was graduate of Haverling High School in 1941. She enjoyed gardening, yard sales, reading and visiting with her sons and the grandchildren. She will be interned at Bath National Cemetery with her husband, Guy.
The family thanks her friends and neighbors for staying in touch over the years especially her Healthcare aides that made her final years pleasant and as safe as possible. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that those wishing to make donations that it be at the Dormann Library, 101 West Morris Street, Bath, NY or a charity of their choice.
To honor Vi’s wishes there will be no services.
