Private services were held for Thomas A. "Teets" Cushey, 81, of Venetia, who died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg. He was born August 15, 1916, in Hackett, a son of Isaiah and Jeanette Lytle Cushey. Mr. Cushey was a lifelong resident of the Venetia-Finleyville area and was Protestant. He formerly owned and operated Cushey Brothers Beer Distributor in Hackett and retired from Consolidated Coal Co., Montour 4 Mine. Mr. Cushey was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Hoffman Cushey, with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage July 27, 1997; two daughters, Linda Levandosky of Finleyville and Deborah Kriebel of Venetia; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Dave Cushey of Venetia; and four sisters, Ethel Pemberton and Gail Dobash, both of Venetia, Lorraine Fink of Buffalo, N.Y., and Nellie Hugh of Conn. Deceased are a son, Aaron "Pete" Cushey; four brothers, John, Charles, James and Raymond Cushey; and four sisters, Mary Vickers, Ann Derrico, Eunice Cushey and Jeanette Hatfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Washington Unit, 135 South College Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301.
