They had 5 children-one of them Mary Polly Ann Scalf who married William "Limpy Bill" Amburgey. Polly Eversole Scalf died before 1850. Jesse then married Eliza Collins after 6-23-1849 & they had abt 7 children. Jesse joined the 47th Kentucky Volunteer Mounted Infantry-Union Army Aug 9, 1863. He was "mustered in" Oct 5, 1863 at Irvine,Ky. And "mustered out" 12-26-1864 at Lexington,Ky. Served as Corporal in Company B. Applied for pension abt 1883.
