I know your time on earth was troubled,
and only you can know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil,
you were no stranger to the rain
So, go rest high on that mountain
Son your work on earth is done
Go to Heaven a-shouting
Love for the Father and the Son.
"Go Rest High On That Mountain" Vince Gill

Alan was blessedly released to Heaven on September 11, 2001 after two months in intensive care. He was 46 years old. Alan married his wife Cyndy on May 24, 1997 after three years of dating. From the day they met, Alan was a devoted man to Cyndy, a father to her two grown daughters, Erin and Brandi, and a loving, VERY entertaining Papa to Kaitlyn, Breonna, Kirk and Kenyon. A very popular game was called- what else?- HOP ON POP! Early in Alan and Cyndy's relationship, Alan became a first-time "from birth" grandfather to Marcus. Sadly, Marcus passed away at five days due to a Congenital Heart Defect. His Papa is holding him now...When Alan passed away in 2001, he was cremated. As were his wishes, Alan is now interred in the Pacific Ocean, Disneyland, a lake in Casa Grande, or wherever the wind may take him. He was the most wonderful, flawed man that I have ever known, and I thank God for allowing us the time that we had as father and daughter.

Alan is survived by his wife, Cyndy; his father, Doug Essary; his mother, Jan(Claude) Watson; his brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Linda Essary, and their children, nephews Connor and Blake, and niece Audra; daughter Erin(David) Waters; daughter Brandi(Kirk) McConnell; and grandchildren Kaitlyn Waters, Breonna McConnell, Kirk McConnell, and Kenyon Waters. Alan became a grandfather again in December 2002- David "DJ" Waters, and again in June 2003- Kobe McConnell. He was preceded in death by his grandson Marcus Waters, who passed away in May 1995.

Alan was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers IBEW LU 0518 Globe, AZ
