Don William Funk, 85, of Casey, IL passed away at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at his home. He was born August 15, 1927 in Casey, IL, the son of Raleigh Washington Funk and Anna Laura Ross Funk. On May 12, 1990, he married Janice Nott in Hindsboro, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Funk of Casey, IL; sons, Dan L. Funk of Mt. Vernon, IN; Tim Funk of Cambridge, IL; John Funk and wife Cindy of Decatur, IL; daughters, Donna Mars and husband Gary of Long Creek, IL; Paula Jo Roach and husband Sam of Mt. Olive, IL; stepsons, Michael Ekstrom and wife Cindy of Mahomet, IL; William Ekstrom of Fairbury, IL; Jonathan Ekstrom and wife HiDee of Royal, IL; David Ekstrom and wife Cheryl of Bondville, IL; step-daughter, Kathleen Lewis and husband Nathan of Casey, IL; sister, Carolyn Hunt and husband Robert of Kimberling City, MO; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ross and Ferrell Funk; sisters, Morna Potter, Mary Erwin, Norma Funk, Geneva Heim and two infant sisters.

Don was a US Army WWII veteran, serving his country in the Medical Corp. He retired as a United Methodist Church Minister after thirty years. He also previously worked for Marbel Auto Body Repair in Decatur, IL in the 1960's. Don was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church, the Casey Lions Club, a lifetime member of the Casey Rotary Club and a member of the Casey American Legion. Don served as a Chaplin for the Boy Scouts and the Hazel Dell American Legion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Casey United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Reese, Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber and Rev. Roger Kilzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery, rural Casey, IL with graveside military rites by the Casey VFW and the Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Casey United Methodist Church, 703 N State Hwy 49, Casey, IL.
