Mrs. Betty Marie Echtinaw, age 93, of Pickerel Lake, Newaygo, Michigan died Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Fremont. She was born Betty Marie Armitage in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of Florence (Thompson) and George Armitage on February 28, 1920. She married Russell Echtinaw on June 27, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1991. She was a homemaker. She was a life member of The Order of the Eastern Star and a long time volunteer at Spectrum Health-Butterworth. She is survived by her children Patricia and Joseph Wodarek of Six Lakes and James and Wendy Echtinaw of Newaygo; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids.
