My Grandma was was the best person I ever knew. Her love was unconditional and she always gave acceptance when others wouldn't. She is responsible for my love of history and sparked my interest in cemeteries by driving me around and pointing them out. She could always tell a story about someone buried in any of them.

She was raised in East Point Georgia on Eighth St. (then called Hillhouse St.) She attended Russell High School until she quit to work at the Oaks Manufacturing Company cutting Cheese Cloth and packaging it for sell as dust clothes. She worked there until 1934 when she married my Grandfather and moved to Fayette County, Ga. She raised her four children there and was a house wife until Grandpa died in 1957. She went to work in the cafeteria at the Georgia Military Academy and then Morrison's Cafeteria, Piccadilly Cafeteria and finally Clayton General Hospital as a Laundry attendant.

She retired to Newnan, Ga. where she spent her time sewing, knitting, doing needle point and reading hundreds upon hundreds of romance novels. She died in 1997 from complications of a benign yet inoperable brain tumor.
