CARLISLE - Mary Louise Platt, 80, Moorefield Rd., widow of James Henry Platt, died Sun. Nov. 28, 2004 at Nicholas Co. Hospital. She was born in Nicholas Co. to the late Anderson and Mamie Miller McVey, was a member of Carlisle Christian Church and a former member of Marie Chapter O.E.S.
Survivors include: a son, James William (Pam) Platt, Carlisle; two daughters: Mary Elizabeth Platt, Elizabethtown, Amy Louie Reffitt, Frenchburg; a sister, Pauline Snapp, Carlisle; three grandchildren: Jessica Nicole Platt, Carlisle, Jermaine Platt, Bellview, OH, Thomas Joe Smith, Frenchburg; a special friend, Jana Caswell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be 2 pm Thurs. at Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carlisle Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Clyde Miller, John Wayne and Dennie Ritchie, Jimmie Sidles, James R. Snapp and Steven H. Vice. Honorarybearers will be Emmitt Sr. and Aleitha Davis, G.C. and Esther Myers, Barbara, Paula and Carolyn Snapp and Judy Vaughn. Visitation, after 5 pm today.
