Katherine Louise Gire, 87, of Tuscola, formerly of Villa Grove, died at 12:48 a.m. Saturday (March 9, 2013) at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
She was born May 22, 1925 in Chillicothe, a daughter of Thomas and Ethel Bornsheur Crutchfield. She married Charles E. Gire on Nov. 11, 1948 in Chillicothe. He died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister and one great-granddaughter.
Surviving are one son, Gary (Peggy) Gire; one daughter, Becky Gire Babbs; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Marybell Riggins.
