Anna Dorothea (Foss) Skime, the daughter of Sigvart and Hildegard (Lindell) Foss was born on May 23, 1915, at her home in Hallock, MN. She lived in rural Hallock as a child and attended church and school at Two Rivers.

She married Alvin Skime in 1934 and moved to rural Skime. Anna and Alvin also lived in Roseau and the Twin Cities before they retired and moved back to Skime and finally Roseau.

Anna was a very caring person. She was a caregiver to several ill and unfortunate people in her lifetime. Giving was also a large part of Anna's life; one could rarely visit her without leaving with some small memento from her.

In her lifetime, Anna was very skilled at cooking, crocheting and gardening. Anna also enjoyed having company and always had coffee and treats for her visitors. In her later years, Anna lost her eyesight so visiting with others became her hobby.

Anna was fortunate to have her wish fulfilled – to be able to live in her home until her death on February 15, 2006, at the Roseau Area Hospital, at the age of 90 years and 8 months.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her parents, Sigvart and Hildegard Foss; brothers and sisters, Gustav Foss, Helena Skime, Margaret Nelson, Frederick Foss, Olaf Foss, Alfred Foss, Carl Foss, Gudrun Dahl, Norman Foss, Bob Foss, Elmer Foss and Warren Foss.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 2:00 PM at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Skime. Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 5 – 7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau.

Interment at Bethesda Cemetery in Skime.
