Victor Anderson came to the United States in 1884 with his parents, John and Pernilla Anderson. They settled in Afton, MN. He was one of eight boys, only half of which lived longer than the age of five.
He moved to California and married Nellie J. Stone, and they had five children. He worked as a miner and a logger in the Sierras, and had a long battle with tuberculosis.
