Born July 29, 1915, in Ashland, MS, and raised in Bolivar, TN, he was the son of the late William L. Barwick and Ada (Jones) Barwick.
He was the husband of Faye (Brookshire) Barwick of the home and was first married to the late Juanita Elizabeth (Witt) Barwick.
He was a self-employed diesel mechanic, of the Baptist faith, and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and also the U.S. Army Air Corps of which he participated in the New Guinea Campaign and received the Bronze Star.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Lillian Markel of Fountain, FL, and Sue Carey of Ten Sleep, TN; a son, Lyndall O. Barwick of Kenosha, WI; two step-daughters, Nancy Bond of Clarkston, MI, and Beverly Holland of Hamilton, GA; a step-son, Cecil Cronover of Wichita, KS; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, LouAlma Blackburn and Willie B. Denson.
Visitation was 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joe Dempsey. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
