Charlotte Elizabeth Stranghoener of Owensville, Mo., formerly of Gerald, departed this life on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville.
She had reached the age of 76 years, seven months and seven days. Charlotte was born in St. Louis on July 28, 1936 to the late Samuel Walter and Margaret (Barcroft) Murphey. On December 12, 1954 in Utah she was united in marriage to Virgil Stranghoener. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; two sons, Bobby and Kenny Stranghoener; three grandchildren, D.J. Ernst, Matthew Littrell and Charlie Littrell; and brother, James Murphey. Her survivors include her children, David Stranghoener of Union, Kathy Littrell and husband Rick of Ellington, Debbie Ernst and husband Steve of Wentzville, Patty Story and husband Jim of Owensville, Lisa Purgahn and fiance' Craig Tiffany of Wentzville; brother, David Murphey and wife Pat of St. Louis; sisters, Sister Rosemary Murphey of St. Louis and Margaret Scheu of St. Louis; and by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Gerald with Rev. Terry Knight officiating.
