George Thomson, 77, died today at 3:30 a.m.
He was born in Rumford, Scotland, July 9, 1861, and came to Salt Lake in 1874. He was called by the Church in 1899 to settle a Church colony in Alberta, Canada, and lived there until 1915. He filled a mission to Great Britain from 1907 to 1909 and had been active in temple and other church work all of his life. He married Amelia Despain in 1883 and following her death he married Alice Maude West Stephenson. She died, and he married Margrett Bresco.
Surviving are Mrs. Thomson of Murray, and the following sons and daughters; George Thomson of Alberta; Jesse W. Thomson of Midvale; Mrs. Mary Ames, Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Amelia Sundell and Mrs. Helen Garner, Murray; Mrs. May Glad, Salt Lake; 34 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
{Next day paper} Funeral—Thomson age 77, will be conducted Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the Grant Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the residence 5052 Wahlquist Lane in Murray, Saturday evening and Sunday prior to services. Interment in the Granite Cemetery under direction of the George A. Jenkins Mortuary.
