Arlene (Allen) Strunk was a homemaker. She was born in Toledo, Illinois on Sep 28, 1892, the daughter of James Payne Allen and Stella M. Stillman. Arlene's father was CB & Q Railroad Station Agent in southwestern Nebraska.

She was educated at McCook High School.

She was married to Harry D. Strunk on Jun 4, 1912, in McCook, Red WillowCounty, Nebraska. They had a son, Allen Duane and a daughter, Shirley Margaret.

From 1913 to 1926, she was employed as a hand compositor, linotype operator, bookkeeper, and reporter for the Strunk papers, Red Willow County Gazette, semi-weekly, and the McCook Daily Gazette since 1924.

In 1926, she was a relief worker in the business office of the Gazette. From June 1937 to June 1939 she served as a DAR regent, and received an award for outstanding work in the state museum located in S. W. Nebraska, located in Kelley Park, in McCook, Nebraska. She was past matron OES; Congregational Church, and Dorcas Society.

Her hobby was genealogy.
