The Times Record, Troy, NY, Thursday, April 30, 1959:
Mrs. Grace Chard Danks of 188 Paine St., native and lifelong resident of Green Island, died last evening at the Roswell Park Memorial Institute, Buffalo, after a long illness. She was a member of the Green Island Presbyterian Church. For 20 years she had been active in bowling and had bowled with the Feideu team. She was employed as a machine operator for Marshall Ray Co., Troy, for 10 years retiring last June because of illness. She is survived by her husband; Vincent Danks; three brothers, Norman Chard of Troy, Alfred Chard of Waterford and William of Cohoes; one sister, Mrs. Edmund Lewis of Green Island. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Ave., with Rev. Benjamin Ashton, pastor of the Green Island Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
