Charles T. Alwine, 65, of Hanover, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Hanover Hospital. He was the husband of Dolores M. (Wolff) Alwine for 46 years.

Born Oct. 8, 1934, in Hanover, he was the son of Ruth N. (Brown) Alwine of Hanover, and the late Charles L. Alwine.

He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Hanover, Hanover Fire Co. No. 2, York County Firemans Association, and Republican Club of Hanover. He graduated from Eichel-berger High School, Class of 1952. He retired from ESAB of Hanover after 40 years as a press operator. He worked part time for Lincoln Bus Lines of Hanover.

Surviving also are three daughters, Linda M. Baile and Pam J. Alwine, both of Hanover, Jody L. Sinclair of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Randall T. Alwine of Spring Grove, and Troy E. Alwine of Hanover; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Kenworthy Funeral Home Inc., 269 Frederick St., with his pastor, the Rev. Bruce P. Bouchard, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Appier, Kevin Sinclair, Bruce Baile, William Miller, Dean Wolff, Ronald Wolff.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dick Garrett and Earl Shoemaker. Memorial contributions may be made to: Visiting Nurse Association, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.
