He was a journeyman carpenter and member of Carpenters Local 2007 in Orange.
Survivors include his wife, LaVelle Chandler of Bridge City; a daughter, Melissa Garrett of Orange; four sons, David, Scott, Tim and Mark Chandler of Bridge City; his parents, Mr and Mrs J O Chandler of Kirbyville; a sister, LaRue Adams of Lafayette, La; two brothers, Hershel Chandler of Houston and Doyle Chandler of Kirbyville; and 8 grandchildren.
