Mr. Walter E. Duden, 79, died Thursday, May 6, at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Gainesville after a lengthy illness.
Born at Allerton, Iowa, he moved to Cedar Key in 1924. He created an auto sales company in Bronson in 1941 and retired to Old Town in 1963. He was a member of the Bronson First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge of Bronson and the Order of Eastern Star in Chiefland.
Surviving are his wife, Jessie; three sons, Gene and Wayne both of San Francisco, California, and Don Duden of Tallahassee; a daughter, Miss Gwenith Duden, High Springs; a brother, Edward of Allerton, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Cherington of Old Town, Mrs. Belle Shore and Mrs. Janie McCullough, both of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, May 8th, at the Chapel of Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland at 4 p.m. Interment was in Bronson Cemetery with Masonic rites.
