BRENT ALAN ASHWORTH, 52, of Yates Crossing, Ona, W.Va., passed away on March 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. He was born in Huntington, W.Va., on January 29, 1961, the son of Betty M. Black Ashworth and the late Cline Jefferson "Deadhorse" Ashworth.
He worked in construction and as a maintenance worker for the Cross Lanes Dog Race Track and later as a general handyman for the surrounding community. He enjoyed reading western books, watching Army movies, and spending time with his kids and family.
He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Betty Jo Bush Lovell, whom he married on January 30, 2007;
his children, daughter, Barbara Joyce Ashworth and son, Joseph Brent Ashworth of North Carolina, their mother Robin Conrad Goodman of North Carolina;
his step-daughter, Darlena Lovell of North Carolina and step-son, James Lovell of Arkansas;
one grandson, Colton L. Stover;
two step-grandsons, Johnathan M. Lovell and Michael A. Lovell;
one step-granddaughter, Tanya Lovell of Oklahoma;
sisters, Cheryl and husband Bruce Hutchison of Branchland, WV, Mary and husband Will Ayers of Hinton, W.Va., Cindy Fox of North Carolina, Diana Ashworth and friend Rod Messinger of Branchland, W.Va., and Amy Ashworth of Ona, WV;
