Thomas Matthew Rees, 85, of Odessa, a language professor, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at the Hospice House. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the Rev. Alan Pitt officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Salt Lake City. He served in the Army and Marines.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Celestia "Tess" Rees of Odessa; sons, Brigham Dean Rees of Manassas, Va. and Joel Matthew Rees of Amagasaki, Japan; daughters, Sharla Rees of Salt Lake City, Laurie Rees Bush of Atlanta, RaeLynn Rees Shattuck of Balch Springs and Ginette Rees Rogers of Roosevelt, Utah; sister, Winifred Rees Erickson of Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
