Laura was the youngest of eight children. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was characterized as practical and ambitious. She took a commercial course in school and worked as a bookkeeper for Dave's fur factory after graduation. At the end of World War II, she started a blouse business in which she made blouses that Aunt Tessie beaded. It was very successful, they bought a home in Brooklyn in 1947. Laura moved to California. She was in excellent health and very active when she passed away in her sleep on February 13, 1994.
