Abel, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed on Thanksgiving Day 2012 surrounded by his wife Margaret; son John and his wife Sheila; his daughters, Carolyn Lyman and her husband Cliff, Linda Schiavon, Liesa Brown and the rest of his family. Abel leaves seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren who will always remember and miss their Papa.
He was Uncle Berb to all his nieces and nephews; and thought of as a Man's man by his nephews, Bob and Jim Duarte and John Galvan; He is now fishing with Toby.
