Obituary:
Funeral services were held today in Washington for Frank C. Austermuhl, 81, a native of Wilmington who worked as an estimator on the renovation of the White House during the administration of President Truman. Interment was in Washington.

Mr. Austermuhl died unexpectedly Sunday while visiting in Wilmington with his brother, George E. Austermuhl, Brack-Ex, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Etta Beckerle, Wilmington. He was stricken with a heart attack at Mrs. Beckerle's home.

He learned his trade as a young man with the American Car & Foundry Company here, where he worked until going to Washington to work for the Lang Company 35 years ago. The Lang firm handled a number of government contracts.

A Mason, Mrs. Austermuhl served as a treasurer of a Masonic lodge in Washington. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Austermuhl, died in 1950. For the past three years, he had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Lyman F. Hill, Kensington, Md. His daughter and brother are his only immediate survivors.
