Funeral services for Mrs. Cassie Corley Rice, age 86 years, were held Friday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at the Edelen & Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. A. H. Gregory was in charge of the service assisted by Dr. Chester Badgett. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Mrs. Rice was the daughter of Anderson and Ellen Bricken Corley. She was born August 26, 1867 in Marion County. She died March 23, at the Current Nursing Home in Frankfort, after being in ill health for several years. She united in marriage to the late Ben Rice, former police judge of Campbellsville, on September 26, 1889. To this union one son and three daughters were born. Surviving are: Harold Rice of Clarksville, Ind., Mrs. Edward Blakeman of Frankfort and Mrs. Nellie Crawford of Campbellsville. She is also survived by two foster children, Harry Edwards of Louisville and Mrs. Calvin Waters of Campbellsville; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were: C. R. Cook, Paul Johnson, George Marples, Henry Sexton, Guy Weatherford, and Harry Smith.
