He was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Aug, 31, 1847, and participated in the Franco-Prussian war in 1870-4. On Feb. 26, 1874, he married Miss Anna Beierman, and the couple came to America on June 2 of that year, settling on the farm where he was residing at the time of his death. Mrs. Claussen passed away Aug. 29, 1913.
Surviving are three sons, William, Robert and John, and two daughters, Mrs. Emma Rolfs and Mrs. Frieda Caweezell, as well as a sister and a brother living in Germany.
The funeral will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock and burial will be in Fairmount cemetery.
