Carl was the oldest of two sons born to Carl Milton Sr. and Macon Mae (Gainey) Kivett. He married Hazel Caroline McDonald in 1942 and they had five children: Sharon May, Hazel Ann, Carolyn Machonne, Carl Milton III, and Gary B.

PINEHURST - Carl Milton Kivett, Jr., 65, of Caddell Rd. died Tuesday at Moore Regional Hospital.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Powell Funeral Home chapel in Southern Pines. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Surviving are sons, Gary B. Kivett of Bakersville and Carl M. Kivett, III of Pinehurst; daughters, Mrs. Sharon Melton of Pinebluff, Mrs. Ann Collins of Greenville, S. C., and Mrs. Machonne Morrison of Beaufort, S. C.; brother, James Kivett of Carthage; mother, Mrs. Mae Kivett of Pinehurst; three grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
