PIONEER WOMAN TAKEN BY DEATH AT HER HOME
Hancy Jonna Salton, resident of Tillamook since 1888, died Sunday and funeral services were held Wednesday in the Presbyterian church with the Rev. George W. Wilber officiating.
Mrs. Salton was born in Andover, N.Y., May 5, 1844. She was married to Wilbur Burdick in Andover in 1865. Six children were born to this union, A.J. Burdick of Creswell, Ore., W.P. Burdick of Long Beach, Cal, L.D. and D.E. Burdick of Port Angeles, Wash., Mrs. Mary J. Thomas and Mrs. Stella J. Perry of Tillamook. She has one surviving brother, Frank Baker of Decature, Mich. After the death of Mr. Burdick in Oregon, she was married to H.C. Salton April 2, 1908 at Netarts. He died some years ago. Mrs. Salton was a convert to the Baptist faith in the east but since coming to Oregon had united with the Presbyterian church. She had been a member of the local church for many years and was a regular attendant at services.
