Cade Bethea moved to Lauderdale County, Mississippi, at the town of Meridian, where he followed both saw and lumber milling until moving to Kemper County. It was there that he met and married Mrs. Louisa Amanda (Ellerbe) Ball. Her family had located in Kemper County, Mississippi, in 1845, and they were farming people there.She was then the widow of Josh Ball, of Kemper County. The children of this family are Lamar and Cade Bethea and J. W. Ball, the latter a son of Mrs. Bethea by her first husband.
