Found on the website, dutchforkchapter.org, George Hipp family: George John Adam Hipp, born 07 May 1797, died 19 April 1855, married 1) Elizabeth Piester, died about 1835; and married 2) Eve Setzler, born 1806, died after 1870, children by second wife: Adam Isadore Hipp, born 10 April 1843, died 22 June 1892, married Narcissa Cummings Epting, born 21 April 1843, died 30 April 1929, daughter of Capt. George and Elizabeth Epting.

He can be found on the 1880 US Census for Cooper, Edgefield, SC at age 38 living with Narcisis, 30, Lula, 13, Lisy, 12, James, 8, and Abner, 8 months. He is a farmer.

Found in The State 23 June 1893 (in conflict with the headstone which gives a year of death as 1892): Yesterday morning another Confederate veteran passed over the river to join his many comrads who have gone before, when Mr. Adam I. Hipp, after a four months illness, died. Mr. Hipp was a native of Newberry county, but has lived in Columbia most of his life. He leaves a wife and four children. The funeral services will be held from the late residence of the deceased, No. 33 S. Devine street at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
