James Luther Littlefield was born March 5, 1898 in Adamsville, Tennessee, the son of Clarence A. and Maggie Droke Littlefield. His siblings include Mrs. Etta Brewer of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Mrs. Rose Brown and Mrs. Nila Thomas, both of Memphis, Tennessee. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

He married Thelma Marcom at Memphis, Tennessee. Survivors include his wife and children, Mrs. Alice Graf of Lockport, Mrs. Nila Rebecca Fuchak of Staunton, LeRoy of Murphysboro, david of St. Ann, Missouri, James of Lockport, Wally of Sunset Hills, Missouri, and Allan of Gladstone, Missouri.

Mr. Littlefield was a member of the First Baptist Church of Murphysboro. He was a member of the Painters Local 352 in Murphysboro. He died at the age of 73 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
