A former resident of Old Saybrook, CT, he is survived by his wife, Irene Dobusz Dasenbrock of New Britain, CT, and a son, David P. Dasenbrock of Franklin, TN.
Born in Effingham on November 15, 1921, Arthur was one of seven children of Francis and Helen Wente Dasenbrock. His parents and siblings preceded Arthur in death.
A life-long lover of Big Band-era music, Arthur played in several bands following his graduation from high school, performing at dances and receptions throughout southern Illinois.
During World War II, Arthur served in the Pacific with the 7th Air Force (11th Bomb Group, 26th Squadron). Following the war, he earned an engineering degree from the Missouri School of Mines (now, Missouri University of Science and Technology). Arthur then enjoyed a career of almost 40 years with Stone & Webster, a multi-national engineering firm, headquartered in Boston. His tenure with Stone & Webster was marked by extensive travel and included assignments in Montreal, Sicily and Bombay (now Mumbai), India.
His funeral service will begin on Friday, November 25th at 9:30 a.m. at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Holy Cross Church, New Britain. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Burritt Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eternal Word Television Network or the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
