BURLINGTON - Sylvia Erma Allen, 84, Burlington, a former resident of Grand Coulee, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1993, in the Burton Care Center in Burlington.

She was born Oct. 2, 1909, in Cole Harbor, N.D., to Harry and Elsie (Lindsey) Lacy. She moved to Nashua, Mont., at an early age and married Roy Childs in 1927 in Nashua. They moved to Vancouver during World War II. Following the war, they moved to the Grand Coulee area.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1958. She married Howard Allen in 1967, and he died in 1982.

Mrs. Allen worked as a nurse's aide for several years and was a member of the Ridge Riders in Delano.

Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Doise of Lake Charles, La.; Roberta Fairbanks of Burlington and Arlene Jackson of Lynnwood; two sisters, Marjorie Landers of Idaho and Fern Karcher of Montana; and one brother, Cleatis Lacy of Grand Coulee; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters.

Strate Funeral Home, Grand Coulee, is in charge of arrangements.
