John E. Barnum died Tuesday at his home on Helderberg Avenue, at the age of 69 following a long illness. Born in Green Island, Mr. Barnum had lived at the Helderberg avenue address for 41 years.
He was a tinsmith at the General Electric Co., retiring five years ago and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Bond funeral home with Rev. William S. Rowe officiating. Elder Thomas Hicken will assist; at the service. Burial will be at Fisher Cemetery.
Mr. Barnum is survived by his wife, Ina Herron Barnum; three sons, Harold and Donald Barnum and Noel Deland, all of this city; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Brandt of this city; Mrs. Zera Link of Troy and Mrs. Sarah Rysedorph of Green Island; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
