Adelyn Marjory Alsager was born March 3, 1924 to Hans Ingvald Solomon Thompson and Marsha Alma Eliza (Mortvedt) Thompson in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She was raised in the Radcliffe, Iowa area and graduated from Ellsworth High School. Adelyn married Jennings Alsager in Ames, Iowa.
Along with being a homemaker, Adelyn worked various jobs throughout her life, retiring from Zion Lutheran Church in 1997 as their custodian.
She was a member of the Norse Club and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. Adelyn moved to Minnesota in 2001.
Adelyn passed away February 9, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in St. Louis Park, Minnesota at 87 years of age.
Adelyn is survived by her son Mickey and his wife Diane Alsager of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren Jacob Bowlsby, John Robert Bowlsby, Jayson Bowlsby, and Jeffrey Bowlsby; her sister Hazel Henryson of Ames, Iowa; her nephew Wayne Henryson; her son-in-law John Bowlsby of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and her brother-in-law Howard Gordon of La Mesa, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Joyce Bowlsby; her brother Stanley Thompson; and her sister Hannah Gordon.
