Alf. H. Alfson Is Laid To Rest After Last Rites
Valders, Wis.—Funeral services for Alf. H. Alfson, aged 88, former chairman of Cato township, who passed away last Friday night at his farm home two miles north of this village, were held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Berge funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the West Valders Lutheran church on Highway 151, the Rev. E. A. Fretheim officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, the following acting as pallbearers: Joseph Tenor, Louis Guntner, Oscar Thompson, Walter Christiansen, Christian Hougen and Alfred Christiansen.

Mr. Alfson was born in Norway in 1850, and when 11 years of age came to this country with his parents. The family located on the present homestead. He was chosen a member of town offices and for 12 years represented Cato on the county board of supervisors. He was one of the founders and president of the Scandinavian Mutual Fire Insurance company. Survivors are a brother, Ole, and a sister, Elizabeth, both living at the farm homestead.
