JOPLIN, Mo. — Collene Ray Lake, age 74, Joplin, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital.

Collene was born April 9, 1938, in Joplin, daughter of the late Burley Boston "Boss" Martin and Mildred Irene Watts Martin. She attended Old Greg and Iron Gates Schools, was a member of Iron Gates Christian Church, and during World War II was a member of the Lady Bugs. She worked for Cardinal Scales for many years before retiring in 2003. Most recently she worked at Save-A-Lot, where she worked for over eight years. She was known as "Grandma Save-A-Lot".

In addition to her parents, Collene was preceded in death by her brothers, Phillip, Richard, and Robert Martin; a sister, Rose Martin; and a great-great-granddaughter, Piper.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Howard Lake; daughters, Debra Rae Santana Terry, of Joplin, Laura Lynn Lake, of Joplin, and Nancy Yust and husband, Kurt, of Neosho; four grandchildren, Melissa Collene Ramirez and husband, Juan, of Tulsa, Okla., Joshua James Santana and wife, Kayla, of Carterville, Mo., Scott Goswick and wife, Tammy, of Seneca, Mo. and John Yust, of Neosho; 10 great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Karly, Kara, Kody, Kelsey, Marissa, Katie, Haylee, Keaston, and Addison; three great-great-grandchildren, Matthew, Hayden, and Zane.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 6, at 2 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Brother, Ed McFall officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m.
