Westwood resident Leta Ann Alexander-Olive passed from this life peacefully, with her daughters at her side, Sunday afternoon, Oct. 3, 2010 under the loving care of the staff at Seneca Health Care District, (Chester, Ca.).
Born June 18, 1944 in Sacramento, Calif., to the late Andrew and Mildred (Niles) Van Melick, she was raised and educated in Sacramento, graduating from Grant Union High School as a member of the "Class of 1962."
Through a girl friend she was introduced to John Alexander and the couple was united in marriage on Feb. 5, 1963 in Carson City, Nev. To this union two daughters and one son were born.
Following John's passing in 1976, Leta married Michael Olive in Reno, Nev. on Oct. 20, 1978, a union that later ended in divorce.
Except for a short stay in Portland, Ore., Leta had resided in Sacramento before moving to the Northeastern California community of Westwood in 1970.
First and foremost a loving mother and wife, Leta had a great love of the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping and fishing. When her health permitted she also enjoyed bowling.
Along with her husband John she joins her son; Michael Alexander who passed from this life in October of 2008 to their eternal home.
